class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Such a peculiar sight, I had to glance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It occurred during the height of day<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Between the lines of faces, a happy array<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I can scarcely believe I saw it<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No one seemed to mind it, not one bit<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It so cleverly blended in<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like the proverbial needle in the stack<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That nobody could see the torrent within<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or the self-inflicted attack<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The anomaly entranced me<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This being void of glee<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And so I went<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like a hound on a scent<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through an alley and past a shop<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not once did we stop<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our journey stretched on for hours<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I began to count each brick in the road<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And all the flowers<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While I studied him and the melancholy that flowed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, we had reached the strand<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My feet settled softly in the sand<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His feet, however, did not<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They carried him to the sea, without a second thought<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I stood there<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Watching<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Waiting<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Listening<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nothing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I almost ran after him<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But I knew better<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One thought remained<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Did my presence play a small part<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In soothing that fragmentary
